The Niagara Parks Power Station in Winter

The Niagara Parks Power Station and The Tunnel in winter 2026-27: day and night hours by date, the closures, what else on the Canadian side stays open, and when the boats stop (Oct 2026).

Updated October 2026

The Niagara Parks Power Station and The Tunnel stay open through the winter, from 10 am to 5 pm on most days, so they keep running after the boats stop for the season. Niagara Parks’ posted calendar closes the station on 25 December and from 14 to 20 March 2027 (read October 2026). Its own day ticket is from US$23 a person on GetYourGuide (checked October 2026), with free cancellation up to 24 hours before if the weather turns.

The Tunnel in cold weather

The hall and The Tunnel are indoors, but the tunnel is cool all year and the platform at the river takes spray off the falls. Niagara Parks suggests a light jacket and says to expect to get wet; in winter wear a proper coat and gloves for the platform. It also says access to the platform may be limited in bad weather.

Map of the Canadian side of Niagara Falls: the Niagara Parks Power Station on the Niagara Parkway, The Tunnel running north under the parkway to a platform at the river, Table Rock Centre, the Skylon Tower, Niagara City Cruises, the Horseshoe and American Falls and the Rainbow Bridge
Journey Behind the Falls at Table Rock Centre is about 500 m from the station; the boats leave from the dock below Clifton Hill.
  • Journey Behind the Falls is open all year, about 500 m north at Table Rock Centre; its lower observation deck closes in winter because of ice build-up. behind-the-falls-niagara.com explains what stays open behind the falls in winter.
  • Niagara City Cruises sails daily to 30 November 2026, then on Fridays to Mondays in December, weather permitting, with the last sailing posted for 28 December; the boats are back from 25 April 2027.
  • WEGO runs all year; from 1 November its Green and Blue lines come every 30 minutes, and both stop beside the station.
  • The Niagara Falls Pass ran from 20 April to 1 November 2026, so in winter you buy the station’s admission on its own.

From Toronto in winter

Toronto day tours that include the boat in summer have to replace it when it stops. Queen Tour’s Niagara Falls day and evening tour from Toronto swaps the boat ticket for Power Station and Tunnel tickets when the boat is closed, from US$60 a person in current promotion (usually US$86) (checked October 2026). From Toronto and the US side compares the tours. On the American side, caveofthewindsniagara.com covers the reduced winter version of Cave of the Winds.

The day and night hours and closures are from Niagara Parks’ own attraction calendar for the Power Station and the night experience, read 30 October 2026; the clothing and platform notes from The Tunnel page; Journey Behind the Falls from niagaraparks.com and its news release on the gorge wall; Niagara City Cruises’ sailing dates from Niagara Parks’ calendar; WEGO from its fall-winter timetable; the pass dates from the deals and packages page. All read in October 2026. The GetYourGuide prices and inclusions are from the listings, read in US dollars on 30 October 2026.
