The Power Station and Tunnel at Night

The Niagara Parks Power Station at night: the Currents light and sound show, The Tunnel and the lit Horseshoe Falls from the platform, night hours by date, and the evening tours (Oct 2026).

Updated October 2026

After dark, the Niagara Parks Power Station runs a separate evening experience: Currents, a sound and light show of about 30 minutes that plays on a loop in the generator hall, then The Tunnel and the Horseshoe Falls lit up from the platform at the river. Niagara Parks’ own night ticket is from US$27 a person on GetYourGuide (checked October 2026), rated 4.5 from 177 reviews, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before.

What the night ticket gives you

  • Currents: Niagara’s Power Transformed. A sound and light show of about 30 minutes in the main generator hall, made by Thinkwell Studios Montreal. It runs continuously through the night hours and is included in the night ticket, so there is no showtime to catch.
  • The hall after dark. Lighting through the generator hall and the exhibits, with the multimedia storytelling about the station’s history.
  • The Tunnel and the platform. The 2,200-foot tunnel, then the platform at the river with the Horseshoe Falls illuminated.

Allow about an hour and a half for the show, the hall and the tunnel. Children 2 and under go free with a paying adult.

Niagara Parks’ night calendar, read on 30 October 2026, opens the experience at 5 pm. It usually closes at 7 pm from Sunday to Thursday, at 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays into early November, and at 8:30 pm on most Friday and Saturday nights from mid-November to mid-December. Last entry is an hour before closing. The posted calendar has no night opening on 28 October, 18, 20 and 28 November or 24 and 25 December 2026; it opens 5 to 8:30 pm from 26 to 31 December and 5 to 8 pm on 1 and 2 January 2027, and no night hours were posted after that when we read it. Check the date you want before you build an evening around it.

An evening with dinner

If you want the whole evening arranged, the Power Station, Illumination Tower and dinner tour (See Sight Tours) picks you up from a hotel in Niagara Falls, Canada, for a three-course dinner, the Illumination Tower, where you get to change the colours on the falls, then Currents and the tunnel down to the platform; a small group of up to seven, about four hours, from US$199 a person (checked October 2026). It costs several times the night ticket, so it is for a special evening rather than for the station alone.

Currents, its length, its maker, the night ticket’s contents, last entry and the night calendar are from niagaraparks.com (the Power Station at Night and Currents pages, the 2022 news release on The Tunnel and Niagara Parks’ attraction calendar for the night experience, read 30 October 2026). The GetYourGuide prices, ratings, inclusions and suggested length are from the listings, read in US dollars on 30 October 2026.
